A tale of two customer services
from Marketing Roadmaps
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.”
In October, I had the best and worst customer service
experiences of recent memory. The difference between the two
companies? One understood the lifetime value of a customer, and the
other either didn’t get it or didn’t care.
The best? Amazon.com. And the worst: Cingular Wireless. For

Lead Generation Workshop
In October, I did a workshop for our local Chamber of
Commerce on Lead Generation. We focused on three tactics: direct
mail, seminars and blogs/new media.
Since Marketing Roadmaps has covered blog marketing quite a
bit, I decided to not repost that information. However, I did put up
the info from the direct
mail and seminar
sections.
The most valuable part of the session, however, was the
interactive element -- the attendees and I brainstormed about their
specific lead generation problems. Unfortunately, pretty hard to
reproduce here :-)
If your group or company is interested in this workshop, drop
me a note. I can easily customize it for a specific audience. The
Chamber's version lasted about 1-1/2 hours, but we could expand any
or all of the topics for a longer workshop, depending on the
audience.
