Just really busy bringing a new client site up and getting ready for BlogWorld Expo, including stepping in as a moderator on a panel due to a friend’s unavoidable last minute conflict.
But, I have been working on a post about community and fandom, which hopefully will be up before I leave on Friday.
Also, heads up, we are very close to moving this blog over to WordPress. I’ll be keeping the Typepad site up so I don’t break other folks’ links, but at some point in the very near future, the blog will move. Hope you come along for the ride.
It may just be a wild one, Mr. Toad.

Susan, which panel are you moderating at? Could you let us know?
I’m actually moderating 3 panels, all on Saturday the 20th.
The first is at 12:15, and is the one that I just stepped in to do because the original presenter had a last-minute conflict. Stefania Pomponi Butler, Sheila Bernus Dowd and I be talking about mommyblogging, the best ways to build your blog brand and for the marketers in the audience, how to reach out to bloggers productively.
My other two panels are the ones I put together for BlogWorld Expo. The topic is social media and last year’s writers strike. The first panel, at 2:45 will be talking about how the writers used social media to tell their story, and the response their activities got from fans and the general public. The second at 5pm will delve deeper into user generated content and how the rise of independent content is changing the entertainment industry.
I posted a brief overview of these 2 panels a few weeks ago and am trying to finish a longer post about fandom and community that touches on some of the themes. Hopefully I’ll finish it tomorrow or Friday.
Super – the intersection of community and fandom is one that we all need more information about. Looking forward to reading it.
