Wow, it's been so long since I've had a troll here, I'd nearly forgotten what to do. And while I know I should ignore you, I'm going to address your point. Once.

Blog With Integrity has always had an educational focus. One of our initial goals was to reframe the discussion about blogging ethics in a more positive manner. We also took a leading role in helping bloggers understand the FTC disclosure requirements for endorsements and testimonials with two free webinars last year.

We were able to offer those webinars to the community for free due to the support of sponsors. Because webinars and websites aren't free.

Now to the current webinar. We created a professional development session for marketing, pr and advertising pros to help them reach out to bloggers more effectively. Businesses are accustomed to paying a reasonable fee for staff education. So we are charging a nominal fee.

Some of the money Blog With Integrity earns from this session will go to cover our costs for the session. Some will go into the kitty to pay ongoing expenses and help fund future free events for the community. If we're lucky, we'll break even this year. On the expenses that is. We don't get paid.

As to whether you should have the badge on your blog, that's your choice. If you want to display the badge or sign the pledge to show your support for the principles of the pledge, terrific. But badges don't convey integrity.

Your actions do.

So this is less a movement now and more a way for everyone to promote you so that you can pocket some cash, is that the deal?

And we should have badges on our blogs... um.... WHY exactly?
