{"id":170,"date":"2006-01-16T14:25:27","date_gmt":"2006-01-16T18:25:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/getgood.com\/roadmaps\/?p=170"},"modified":"2008-10-17T19:07:03","modified_gmt":"2008-10-17T23:07:03","slug":"more-web-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/getgood.com\/roadmaps\/2006\/01\/16\/more-web-20\/","title":{"rendered":"More Web 2.0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m glad to know that I&#8217;m not the only one confused\/concerned (previous posts <a href=\"https:\/\/getgood.typepad.com\/getgood_strategic_marketi\/2005\/12\/random_acts_of_.html\">1<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/getgood.typepad.com\/getgood_strategic_marketi\/2005\/12\/grab_bag_web_20.html\">2<\/a>) about the term Web 2.0. <\/p>\n<p>Tris Hussey <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.larixconsulting.com\/blog\/_archives\/2006\/1\/13\/1673890.html\">points<\/a> to an exchange between <a href=\"http:\/\/allied.blogspot.com\/2006\/01\/web-20-not-just-for-bathtubs-anymore.html\">Jeneane Sessum<\/a> (for) and <a href=\"http:\/\/halleyscomment.blogspot.com\/2006\/01\/why-web-20-is-so-seriously.html\">Halley Suitt<\/a> (against), and comes down on the for side. <\/p>\n<p>If I have to pick, I&#8217;m still against. And not so much against the ideas as I am the hype potential.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s not that I don&#8217;t understand the concepts that are being included under the Web 2.0 term. Or even disagree that many of the changes in the online world that have and are occuring as a result of &quot;social media&quot; are as revolutionary as they are evolutionary. <\/p>\n<p>I just have an inherent dislike of labels. I also see too much old-style jockeying for position, influence and prestige (A-list anyone?) to believe that companies won&#8217;t use this label to hype products that really aren&#8217;t revolutionary or even evolutionary.
