San Francisco web design firm <a href=\"http:\/\/ideacodes.com\/\">Ideacodes<\/a> released an interesting little mashup called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.twitterverse.com\/\">Twitterverse<\/a> on Monday. Basically, Twitterverse lets you track the most-talked about topics on Twitter (hat tip <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bloggersblog.com\/cgi-bin\/bloggersblog.pl?bblog=410071\">Bloggers Blog<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>Hhmm, I thought. That could be interesting. Marketers always want to know what folks are talking about. <\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, they won&#8217;t find out at Twitterverse. At least not yet. Unless of course they want to know that the most popular topic on Twitter is&#8230;. Twitter. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/\/\/i0.wp.com\/getgood.typepad.com\/getgood_strategic_marketi\/twittertoo.jpg?resize=400%2C250&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"400\" style=\"MARGIN: 5px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Putting that delicious irony aside, I do actually have a point \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n<p>Twitterverse hints that perhaps we <strong>can<\/strong> extract business utility from Twitter. The ability to filter conversations and organize into groups (which I am sure people are working on as I type) could actually make Twitter a useful business tool. <\/p>\n<p>Which it isn&#8217;t yet. Great for social networking. Terrific if you want to know who is around for a drink when you land at the big conference in Austin. <\/p>\n<p>Useful for getting things done? Not so much. At least, not as far as I can tell. <\/p>\n<p>But, while I am not a Twitvangelist like some of my colleagues, I&#8217;m not dismissing Twitter either.
